Discipleadership

Discipleadership is about transformation of a whole person and of an entire community. It is a way of spiritual leadership formation. It forms the foundation for what's next - adventures and missions God has for each individual and for every community.

Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11.1)

"Be imitators of me" is spiritual leadership. "As I am of Christ" is discipleship. Spiritual leaders are first and foremost disciples of Jesus. They lead only so far as they are being led by Christ.

Discipleadership is a way of helping fulfill the Great Commission to make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:16-20).

Discipleadership is Christ-centered. Spiritual leadership requires our accurate knowledge of new self in Christ. Discipleship requires our intimate knowledge of God. Jesus is both the standard of new humanity and the perfect image of the invisible God.

Discipleadership is Biblically based. Its principles are simple. However, practicing and mastering them is another matter. It is a life-long quest! Discipleadership is also a journey of transformation through which God restores the hearts of men and women who, in turn, can be change agents to bring healing to their land.

Seven Components of Discipleadership

  1. Grace of Jesus Christ
  2. Love of God the Father
  3. Fellowship of the Holy Spirit
  4. Faith (trust) in God
  5. Abiding in Christ
  6. Living out of your new self in Christ
  7. Bearing fruit in good works
